Star Wars rumor: What sequel trilogy character could return in future movies?

Star Wars: Episode IX is the end of the Skywalker Saga, completing a story that started more than 40 years ago.
But the end might not mean we have to say goodbye. There’s a new Star Wars rumor that a sequel trilogy character will be returning for one of the future trilogies. Warning: Potential spoilers ahead.

According to We Got This Covered, Daisy Ridley’s character, Rey, will appear in future films. While this is not confirmed, it could give away her character makes it out alive – probably. Remember, Mark Hamill did say that Jedi have that opportunity to always return as a Force Ghost.
Here’s what We Got This Covered had to say:
"We Got This Covered has been informed that Daisy Ridley’s Rey will have a role in one of these trilogies. She won’t be a lead like she is in the current films, however, but will play more of a supporting part."
Given what we know is ahead, there are two stories in the works. There is the David Benioff and D.B. Weiss trilogy, which will begin in 2022. However, it’s been rumored their trilogy takes place during the Old Republic era. Rey wasn’t even a thought at this point. She wouldn’t be around for thousands of years.
Then there are Rian Johnson’s movies. We don’t know anything about them other than Disney big wigs saying it’s happening. Yet, it’s more likely this could be where Rey would wind up. Johnson has a relationship with Ridley from The Last Jedi and his story is still unclear to fans.
While it’s just a rumor and we don’t know how good the source is, it’s still something I wondered about for the sequel trilogy characters.
While John Boyega thinks this is the last we see of Finn, is that the case for Rey, Poe Dameron and Kylo Ren? We’ll see.
