On July 19th, 2019 (one year later), Star Wars: The Clone Wars supervising director and writer Dave Filoni took to twitter to honor the massive 2018 announcement’s anniversary.

Filoni’s Tweet said the following:

"“One year ago we announced the return of #TheCloneWars. I can’t wait for you all to see what I see. #CloneWarsSaved.”"

The Tweet also contained a closeup image of Darth Maul, with the focus mainly on his eyes.

That’s a clever tease by Filoni, as he said he’s excited for us all to see what he sees, and then he provides the picture of Darth Maul, who appears to be staring at something. Of course, Maul is expected to be in the new season.

Obviously, Filoni has seen the new The Clone Wars season, but fans on the other hand are anxiously awaiting a release date announcement.

Either way, the next few months should be exciting times for fans.

The Mandalorian is set to be released on November 12 on Disney+. This show will give fans a unique perspective on the Star Wars universe, with a focus on bounty hunters.

Then around a month later in December, The Rise of Skywalker will hit theaters. Of course, this film will be the final installment of the Skywalker saga.

Filoni’s tweet leaves us with one question: When will The Clone Wars episodes be released?

Regardless, fans will have plenty of exciting Star Wars content starting this fall, and the return of The Clone Wars is an added bonus.
