Speaking of speculation, I’ve been all over the place trying to put together the pieces of a potential Doctor Aphra series. I explored the ten reasons it needed to happen, and I’m sure that will grow into more fresh takes in the future.
But I never considered that she could make an appearance in The Mandalorian. Not that it would be the most unlikely thing. After all, Din Djarin is trying to avoid the limelight. So too is Aphra. So the odds that they happen upon each other in the process aren’t that slim.
That said, I would never frown on an Aphra appearance. It would also lead to more clamor for her to get her own series and oh, have I talked about the supporting cast yet?
If Doctor Aphra does appear, it would mean that certain… favorites… aren’t far behind. That would include Triple Zero, the homicidal protocol droid who delights in torturing mortals; Beetee, the droid who can kill entire armies with his unending arsenal of deadly weapons; and my favorite, Black Krrsantan, the Wookiee bounty hunter who enjoys ripping people apart.
But again, like I said with the Rebels. It feels like a meet-and-greet. The Mandalorian doesn’t need to bring in any of these characters and if they do, I just hope it doesn’t get distracting.
