Driver didn’t talk about Star Wars too much during the monologue but in a bit where he sat next an audience member, he supposedly gave him a signed Kylo Ren action figure to prove that he is approachable and not as serious as many think.
Then he told the audience member, “If I find that on eBay, I’ll kill you.”
Driver started the episode by taking part in the cold open as convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in Hell.
In the biggest nod to Star Wars, Driver appeared in an another Undercover Boss special ‘Where are they now?’ Driver appeared as Randy the intern, but still as Kylo Ren. While it wasn’t as funny as the first go around, he did provide a few decent laughs.
This is Driver’s third time hosting SNL — the first time he hosted in 2016, he appeared as Kylo Ren in the skit Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base.
SNL poked fun at Driver’s Undercover Boss skit in a tweet posted hours before the episode began.
“We, too, heard Kylo Ren was shredded and has an eight pack,” the show tweeted along with a video clip of Driver as Matt … er, Kylo.
The musical guest for this weekend’s episode is Halsey.
Besides The Rise of Skywalker, Driver appeared in two other movies that received widespread release late last year: Marriage Story and The Report. He’s slated to appear in the upcoming musical film Annette alongside Marion Cotillard.
Driver is one of many stars from the Star Wars universe who’ve hosted Saturday Night Live, along with Carrie Fisher and Donald Glover.
The Rise of Skywalker, which appeared in theaters on Dec. 20, has crossed $1 billion in worldwide box office, and is nearing $500 million at the domestic box office.
