Star Wars rumor: There won’t be a Battlefront III anytime soon

If you’re a fan of Star Wars Battlefront II, you’re already disappointed with the news there will be no new major updates. But now there’s a rumor a Battlefront III won’t be happening either.

With the last major update to Battlefront II, what does this mean for the future of the Star Wars video game franchise series?

It doesn’t look good.

Bespin Bulletin posted a rumor recently that said there isn’t a Battlefront III on the way either. While this is just a rumor, Bespin Bulletin has been known to have solid sources.

While they go into more details, here is what they wrote on their Instagram page:

"“Right now there is no plans for a Battlefront III. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but here we are. Enjoy The Battle of Scarif update, share some kind messages to the team at DICE who worked ever so hard on Battlefront II and maybe the force be with you.”"

Battlefront II didn’t start off on the right foot with fans. There were a number of issues from the start, including micro transactions and loot boxes. However, it slowly found its footing and became a popular game.

The news of the Battlefront II releasing its last major update was certainly a disappoint and this rumor doesn’t feel so good either to Star Wars fans.

There are other video games on the horizon, including a rumored Jedi: Faller Order 2. However, it’s not the same when it means the end of something you really enjoy.

Instead, Bespin Bulletin writes it seems the company will shift its focus to other games such as Battlefield 2021, which is not a Star Wars game.

All that said, you can still play Battlefront II. There just won’t be any more characters or major updates to the game. If there was a specific character you were holding out on, unfortunately, it’s just not going to happen – at least according to the rumor.

However, as rumors go, this one is coming from a good source.
