Moff Gideon actor Giancarlo Esposito seems quite confident another pair of seasons are in store for The Mandalorian.

While we may still be a month out from the long-awaited second season of The Mandalorian, Giancarlo Esposito is already teasing that there will be much more on the way.

Speaking to People, Esposito had the following to say about not one, but two more seasons of Mando and The Child.

"We’re living in a universe that is huge and there’s so much to explore … So I think this show is going to lay the ground work for the depth and breath that’s gonna come in season 3 and season 4, where you’re really gonna start to get answers."

Disney certainly didn’t want to let the cat out of the bag this soon, but it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that there is a long future ahead for The Mandalorian. For as exciting as it was, season 1 set the story in motion and raised more questions than anything. Season 2 will hopefully begin to dive deeper into what’s at play, but another eight episodes are not enough time to put it all to an end.

Looking at Esposito’s character alone, Moff Gideon has only moments of screen time so far, and there is much more to explore during a time in the galaxy that is largely unknown.

Considering all the success that came with season 1 and the anticipation for season 2, it also seems ideal for Disney to make as much of the show as it can.

Reports from earlier this year indicated that season 3 was in its early stages, but to know that conversations are already going for season 4 is welcome news. It also has to be a relief for Star Wars fans frustrated with the lack of planning that plagued the sequel trilogy.

From day one, The Mandalorian has looked to be different, a well-oiled machine as opposed to a MacGyvered invention. Esposito’s confirmation, though it may have come a bit sooner than anticipated, shows that to be even more true.

Let the countdown begin for season 3!
