Star Wars reveals which actors are returning for the LEGO holiday special

The Star Wars LEGO holiday special is getting a few big names to return and voice their characters.
With the holidays right around the corner, Disney and Lucasfilm are revealing more about the latest special to hit Disney+, The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special.
The special will be arriving on Nov. 17, and today the two announced that a few very important Star Wars actors will be returning to voice their character in this animated special. This includes original Star Wars favorites such as Billy Dee Williams (Lando) and Anthony Daniels (C-3PO). And sequel actress Kelly Marie Tran will return to voice Riso Tico.
Through the first-look photo they shared when the project was announced, we saw that the animated special would be taking place during the sequels timeline. But now, it looks like there may be a flashback or two. At least it looks that way with the announcement that four more Star Wars actors are returning for this project — well Star Wars: The Clone Wars voice actors. Joining this special will also be Matt Lanter (Anakin Skywalker), Tom Kane (Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn), James Arnold Taylor (Obi-Wan Kenobi), and Dee Bradley Baker (clone troopers).
Here’s Disney+’s official description of the special:
"The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special reunites Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewie, Rose and the droids for a joyous feast on Life Day. Rey sets off on a new adventure with BB-8 to gain a deeper knowledge of the Force. At a mysterious Jedi Temple, she is hurled into a cross-timeline adventure through beloved moments in Star Wars cinematic history, coming into contact with Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Yoda, Obi-Wan and other iconic heroes and villains from all nine Skywalker saga films. But will she make it back in time for the Life Day feast and learn the true meaning of holiday spirit?"
In addition to the news drop, Disney also shared the first key art poster for the holiday special. It’s a clever nod to the Skywalker family and fits perfectly with the holiday theme of the special.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the sequel’s main stars will be joining in on the fun. There’s no confirmation that Daisy Ridley (Rey), Oscar Isaac (Poe), nor John Boyega (Finn) will be back to voice their characters. And unfortunately, Disney+’s biggest Star Wars draw, The Mandalorian, doesn’t necessarily fit into the time period of this special, so it looks like there’s no hope for Pedro Pascal either. Still, it should be a fun, light-hearted special with tons of laughs and cheer in store.
Maybe one day, Star Wars fans will get another live-action Life Day special. But for now, this will do. Look out for The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special to drop on Disney+ on Nov. 17.
