The Book of Boba Fett is not coming to Disney Plus in May 2021
By Mia Johnson
Star Wars has plenty of new television series coming soon to the streaming service Disney+. And after two seasons of The Mandalorian, we know that they’re off to an excellent start with their newly formed live-action television universe.
So, it comes as no surprise that many fans are now looking forward to the next installment in the Star Wars live-action television world: The Book of Boba Fett. Not much is known about the series, but we do know that it connects directly to The Mandalorian and of course, will feature both Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen).
The series has already begun filming, as Temuera Morrison himself confirmed in February that filming was underway. So, just how soon can we expect to see episodes of The Book of Boba Fett hit Disney+?
The Book of Boba Fett release date
When it comes to The Book of Boba Fett’s release date, we know that we’ll have to wait a little bit longer before it comes to the Disney+ streaming platform. Disney shared its May 2021 release calendar and, of course, The Book of Boba Fett is not included.
That is because it was announced last year that The Book of Boba Fett will premiere in December 2021. We’re still not yet halfway through the year. (And who’d want to rush that when summer is right around the corner?) But nonetheless, the premiere for Star Wars’ next television series draws closer and closer, and we can’t wait to see it.
In the meantime, what will be coming to Disney+ in May 2021 from Star Wars is The Bad Batch — which is the spinoff series to the animated show Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The first episode is set to premiere on Star Wars Day (May 4). And from there, the series will likely run through the end of spring and most of the summer. Needless to say, we’ll have plenty of Star Wars to look forward to each week. And then, we’ll take a small autumn break before The Book of Boba Fett arrives at the end of the year.
