The Book of Boba Fett release date updates: When is it coming to Disney+?

With all the exciting live-action shows coming to Disney+ in the near future, it’s hard to even keep track of the release dates and filming schedules. As far as we know, The Book of Boba Fett is the next Star Wars series up, set to come out a few months after The Bad Batch concludes this summer. The show is certainly highly anticipated ever since it was announced during The Mandalorian season 2 finale, and fans are now just waiting for more information about the Temuera Morrison-led outing.

While we wait for The Book of Boba Fett to premiere at the end of the year, here’s what we know about the exciting show so far!

How many seasons of The Book of Boba Fett will there be?

As of right now, only one season of The Book of Boba Fett has been announced. However, that doesn’t mean the series will end with just one installment. We haven’t heard anything about a potential season 2, but if we do, we’ll be sure to let you know.

When is The Book of Boba Fett filming?

Back in February, the show’s star Temuera Morrison confirmed that he was in Los Angeles filming for The Book of Boba Fett. While we haven’t heard anything concrete about the production schedule, What’s On Disney Plus reported in April that filming was supposed to be completed “soon.”

Filming updates on the series have been pretty scarce, but with a release date in December 2021, filming cannot go on for much longer if they haven’t finished yet.

The Book of Boba Fett episode count

The episode count for the series has not been confirmed, however there are rumors swirling that it could be a four-episode miniseries. Tom’s Guide reports the rumor from Small Screen, though the publication points out that we should take this with a grain of salt. Seasons 1 and 2 of The Mandalorian have eight episodes each, so we’d predict that range might be the same for The Book of Boba Fett. This is all just speculation for now, though.

The Book of Boba Fett release date

Though we don’t have an official release date for The Book of Boba Fett just yet, we do know it’ll hit Disney+ in December 2021. Assuming the show will take the Friday release slot on the streaming service, perhaps it’ll debut just in time for Christmas Eve on December 24. It could always make an earlier premiere, maybe on December 3. Of course, these are both just guesses.
