Fire the Mantis, because we might well be heading back to Bogano sooner than expected!
After months of supposed leaks and speculation, the return of Cal Kestis and BD-1 was officially unveiled at Star Wars Celebration earlier this year. That doesn’t mean the rumours are at an end, however!
Playstation Game Size on Twitter noted that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor had been listed on the Playstation Store internal database, with an “Early March 2023” window attributed to it. The listing has since been updated with “release date to be determined” replacing the previous window.
If the title is to receive a March 2023 release, however, this would run in line with the original reports before the game’s release. Jeff Grubb, of Giant Bomb, revealed on the Grubbsnax Podcast that the title would likely see an early 2023 release, albeit stated there was a “chance” it may release in late 2022. Given much of the information gleaned from the report ultimately came to pass, it’s fair to suggest that a March 2023 release window is pretty likely.
Information about the title is still scarce, with nothing further being added to the initial trailer since its announcement. A Jedi: Survivor Cal Kestis action figure was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con, however, which may give us a morsel or two to speculate over (blaster combat, anyone?). Expect more information about the title to release in the coming months.
Jedi: Survivor isn’t the only take Respawn Entertainment are crafting in the Star Wars space. Earlier this year, it was announced that Respawn are working on three new titles. Those were what we now know to be Jedi: Survivor, a first-person shooter, and a strategy title also. With the first of those three titles just on the horizon, it’s not unfair to suggest more information about the other two will be forthcoming soon enough.
