No one has more secrets than a Star Wars actor, and Jude Law is no exception to this rule. Until there's an official announcement from Lucasfilm that confirms or denies that Law and his young co-actors from Skeleton Crew will return, it's his job to carefully skirt around questions about his future.
That's exactly what Law did in a recent interview with ScreenRant about his upcoming film Eden, and he was questioned about his character Jod Na Nawood's future. Law knows there's "a way out of this so that my story can continue."
He was asked whether he's heard anything from Lucasfilm about whether he and the Skeleton Crew cast will be seen again, and he revealed, "I'm sure you appreciate there are so many moving parts to that colossus. All I can say is we had a really exceptional time making it. It was done with such grace, spirit, and inclusion and collaboration. I had a ball, and at times was allowed to overindulge, I think, in my own childhood fantasies of being in the Star Wars universe."
Law chose not to entertain the question at all in terms of denying whether he knows what the future holds. However, the "moving parts to that colossus" comment suggests that Law's return depends on how events in future projects unfold. The Star Wars universe is constantly expanding, and one story can affect what happens in another. Skeleton Crew is set during the New Republic/Mandalorian era, which makes it likely its characters will play a role in the future. Jod Na Nawood and the Skeleton Crew kids' return depends on how the events of Ahsoka Season 2, The Mandalorian and Grogu, and other upcoming Mandoverse series unfold.
The finale of Skeleton Crew leaves the door open for a second season of the show, which was appreciated by fans and critics. Most fans would love to know what Wim, Neel, KB, and Fern have been up to since season 1 ended, and whether Jod ever felt any remorse for his behavior towards them. Jod wasn't redeemed in the series, but he could be redeemed in the future, and it would make a great storyline.
Another important potential storyline is the future of At Attin during the New Republic era, and whether its treasure could end up in the wrong hands. With Grand Admiral Thrawn back in the galaxy, the future is uncertain, especially for a force-sensitive character like Jod Na Nawood, and a planet like At Attin, which has been isolated from the galaxy for so long.
Chances are, Jude Law probably knows if his character will play a role in the future, but he has to wait for Lucasfilm to confirm it first.
Skeleton Crew is streaming on Disney+.
