Star Wars has a rare ability that once a character appears on screen, many fans want to know exactly who they are or where they come from. The Jedi Master Kit Fisto is no different ever since he was seen smiling and wielding a lightsaber in Attack of the Clones.

Now, fans are getting their wish to learn more with the recent announcement of the character getting his own comic series in July. The series Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories — Tides of Terror is an all ages comic, and Fisto is perfect for such a series.

In addition to his appearances in the prequels, Kit Fisto appeared in The Clone Wars in several key episodes. The look and design of the character should intrigue younger audiences and allow them to explore a different Jedi than the main few featured throughout the franchise.

Outside of either flashbacks or holograms, he appeared in five episodes of the cartoon series. He was also the first member of the Jedi Council, outside of Yoda, to have his own solo episode in the first season entry, "Lair of Grievous." It was a strong episode and left many fans wanting to know where Fisto came from.

He also appeared heavily in the Season 4 opening arc of the war on Mon Cala. Kit Fisto's strong design ability to breathe underwater was a source of enjoyment for fans. Throughout the arc, the Jedi assisted the Mon Calamari in their war with the Quarren. He appeared in a few flashbacks or minor scenes after this arc, so for many fans, it will be exciting to see him get his own comic book story in canon.

The franchise has done well enhancing the stories of certain characters, especially in a youthful way. They have done this with the Jedi padawan Gungi in The Bad Batch and one of the leaders in the First Order, Captain Phasma, on Star Wars Resistance.

Stories like these give all-ages audiences the chance to experience the characters and add more depth when they choose to watch the movies again. Kit Fisto will be a perfect representation of this.

The character is a Nautolan, and they display amphibious qualities. His ability to be in both swamp and water areas will allow the comic series to explore climates that have been featured heavily in the franchise.

I remember smiling when Kit Fisto grinned so widely after knocking down C-3PO in Attack of the Clones during the climactic battle. I also wanted to know more about him. Now, I will be able to get that chance this summer and share it with my daughter.

Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories — Tides of Terror is set to be released on July 16.
