Star Wars royalty, Luke Skywalker, has arrived at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, as part of Star Wars: Season of the Force, which runs from March 28, 2025, to May 11, 2025.

Galaxy's Edge's original timeline focused on the sequel-era characters, including Rey Skywalker and Kylo Ren, but that's changing. Including a post-Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker opens the door to characters from other eras.

Via Gizmodo, Lucasfilm's Matt Martin and Disney Live Entertainment's Michael Serna discussed plans to expand the canon as Galaxy's Edge continues to evolve.

For Serna, the demand for characters and stories beyond those set in the sequel era was a surprise. He says, "When we built Galaxy’s Edge, we didn’t even know that some of these stories would be told. So as time has grown on, we realized, who doesn’t love the Mandalorian story, who doesn’t love various different stories? So this is an opportunity for us to sort of lean into those stories we know our fans love and admire while not pulling away from anything we’ve done before."

Another new addition to the fun at Galaxy's Edge is Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga, a new projection show that runs from March 28 to May 11, 2025. It features characters like Anakin Skywalker, Luke, and Leia Organa, as well as their friends and enemies. Fans have already shared some pictures and videos from the show, which feature shots of Darth Maul, Yoda, and Darth Vader.

As for Master Skywalker's Galaxy's Edge debut, fans have every reason to be pumped as this is Luke in his post-Return of the Jedi signature black robes. He's followed by R2-D2 and a hoard of fans who can't get enough of the duo. There's always been a high demand for more Luke content from the post-Empire era. If there was any doubt about how popular and loved Luke still is, there shouldn't be any after his successful appearance at Galaxy's Edge.

As one of the most iconic figures in Star Wars as its first real hero in A New Hope, and the son of The Chosen One, Luke deserves to be there. Other characters who have made appearances there include the New Republic-era characters from Disney's live-action shows including Din Djarin and Grogu, Ahsoka Tano, Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren, and Chopper.

The Mandalorian was also added to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run as part of a new adventure set to begin next year, which coincides with the premiere of The Mandalorian and Grogu on May 22, 2026. Matt Martin and Michael Serna didn't give much away about the ride, adding that "you'll have to wait and see".

Martin added, "What I will say is that it will be another authentic Mandalorian story, and obviously we will be in the Millennium Falcon. So we’re going to get to learn how we end up in the Millennium Falcon in a time where Han Solo owns that ship."

For now, catch Master Luke Skywalker for Star Wars: Season of the Force at Disneyland from March 28 to May 11, 2025. Who knows, perhaps other beloved heroes such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Leia Organa, and more will be next to surprise fans.
