Skeleton Crew: We officially know Jude Law's character name thanks to a LEGO set
The LEGO saga mystery has come to a close. Earlier this month, fans learned Jude Law's character name for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew thanks to a merchandise leak from an upcoming LEGO set. Or so we thought, as the original image (now removed) was blurry. Fans had made their best guess. Now, thanks to the same LEGO set arriving at Target, we have an official confirmation.
As reported by Yakface's Twitter account, we now have clear images of not only Jude Law's mysterious character who is some kind of Force user, we have a clear look at the name of the kid main characters as well. Law will play a character named Jod, and the kids are named Wim, Fern, KB, and Neel.
The LEGO set also has the official name of their ship in Skeleton Crew which is The Onyx Cinder. If you wish to build the set yourself, it is $139.99 at Target.
Skeleton Crew has been plagued with merchandise leaks, more than some of the other Disney+ shows. It was a merch leak with an Official Ingot that gave us the first look at the four kid characters. This isn't the first time these kinds of things happened. In fact, Star Wars plots getting spoiled by merchandise have a long history together. It was out and about that Qui-Gon Jinn was going to die before Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace ever hit theaters thanks to the soundtrack being released before the movie with track titles like "The High Council Meeting and Qui-Gon's Funeral."
The next Mandoverse show is slated to release at the end of this year. The basic plot is a coming-of-age story about four kids who get lost in the galaxy and are trying to find their way home. Being promoted like the Amblin films from the 1980s, such asThe Goonies and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, director Lee Isaac Chung has already promised that the show will be something different and perfect for the whole family.
What's intriguing is how exactly Skeleton Crew is going to fit into the Mandoverse. With the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn in Ahsoka and the Imperial Remnant running around the galaxy in The Mandalorian, perhaps those factors will be some of the obstacles keeping the kids from returning home.
We'll have to wait and see at the end of this year to find out when the show arrives on Disney+.
