Star Wars just shared an emotional video thanking it's fans and wishing them a great May the 4th.

What began in 1977 with the release of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope gradually turned into a global phenomenon that gave birth to generations of passionate fans. The love of Star Wars isn't limited to those who watched the original trilogy but continued to their children and grandchildren. We've seen displayed through the many memorable cosplays from Star Wars Celebration over the years, and fans have tattoos of their favorite characters and scenes from the franchise.

Although fans like celebrating the Star Wars franchise on May the 4th, Star Wars wouldn't be anything without its fans, something the new official video acknowledges. It's the fans who deserve to be celebrated for their passionate dedication. Whether it's showing up dressed as their favorite characters at various conventions or lining up for tickets to witness the re-release of the Skywalker Saga, Star Wars fans are ready to go to any length to show how much this franchise means to them.

The new tribute video features clips from Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, The Bad Batch, Ahsoka, The Acolyte, Star Wars: Visions, and many more. Through the voices of iconic characters like Obi-Wan, Din Djarin, Ahsoka Tano, Cassian Andor, Rex, and Hunter, Star Wars thanks its fans for their "energy, love, trust" and "fearless" loyalty. The video also includes heartfelt messages from Mark Hamill, Hayden Christensen, Katee Sackhoff, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Dave Filoni, the cast of The Acolyte, and Rosario Dawson.

Star Wars Day has become more of a thing in recent years as the occasion has been marked at theme parks and shows like The Simpsons. In recent years, Lucasfilm released the finale of The Clone Wars and Obi-Wan Kenobi on Star Wars Day. This year Lucasfilm will mark the occasion with the re-release of the entire Skywalker Saga, Free Comic Book Day with two new releases, and the premiere of Star Wars: Tales of the Empire on May 4th. There's no shortage of content for fans of every era, so everyone deserves to take the day off to celebrate.

Here's wishing Star Wars fans everywhere a very happy Star Wars Day. May the 4th be with you!
