It is the final Wednesday of February, but that certainly doesn't mean that we're skipping the splash pages. This week in Star Wars comics, we continue with the Grand Admiral Thrawn team-up with Darth Vader, as well as a peek at the two trade paperbacks coming out the first Tuesday of March. Let's get into it!

Thrawn: Alliances #2

The adaptation of Thrawn: Alliance by Timothy Zahn continues with its second issue from Jody Houser. The pencillers are Andrea Di Vito and Pat Olliffe with Rod Reis as the cover artist. Thrawn: Alliances is a major fan-favorite book as it's the buddy team up road trip book with villains. The novel is one of the most hilarious things I've ever read, which the comic has captured some of that humor. It's always neat to see these adaptation novels and putting artwork to the books.

Especially since this will be the first time seeing the Grysks from the Thrawn novels, so Chiss fans are waiting patiently to get that reveal. Also, as I am probably the only die-hard Commander Kimmund fangirl in the world, fingers crossed we get a reveal of his face.

Star Wars Vol. 7: Dark Droids

The first of the 2 trade paperbacks coming out this upcoming week on March 5 is Star Wars Vol. 7: Dark Droids. This will collect the main Star Wars issues #37-41 dealing with the Dark Droids comic event and Lando's treason against the Rebellion to save Lobot from the virus from the villainous Scourge. This horror-inspired story was one of the highlights from last year and not one to be missed.

Star Wars: Dark Droids: D-Squad

The other trade paperback out on March 5 is Star Wars: Dark Droids: D-Squad. This 4 issue miniseries was a more comedic take in the midst of the horror of the Dark Droids events. R2-D2 gathers the galaxy's best droids, including Star Wars Rebels' Chopper, IG-88, The Clone Wars' WAC-47, and more to help save the galaxy from Scourge's invasion.

That's it for Star Wars comics this week. Check back next week for more as we kick off March, which is a busy, busy month for new books.
