Alan Tudyk teases his return as K-2SO in Andor: "I still have secrets"
Andor Season 2 is one of the most highest anticipated series of next year. Not just for Star Wars, but the series was praised across the board by critics and non-Star Wars fans alike. As a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, fans of the film have enjoyed the nods and cameos. While it's been known that Cassian Andor's faithful droid companion K-2SO would return for the second season, we got a confirmation from the actor himself, Alan Tudyk.
Sitting down with Collider at New York Comic Con 2024, Tudyk confirmed, "Yeah, I’m gonna be in it. I can't tell you how much, so I still have secrets and I can't say anything about it, but it was fun to be back with Diego Luna."
Tudyk also took the time to praise showrunner Tony Gilroy, saying, "Tony Gilroy is a very skilled writer. He's a big-brained guy. It’ll be interesting for people to see K-2SO in that world because he was such a smartass , and there was a lot of humor around his being there.” This has been a sentiment among the cast, like how Stellan Skarsgard also praised the creator's writing for Season 2, and Gilroy himself calling it his "Most important work ever." Tudyk added in the Collider interview, "That will be a fresh… I don't know. We’ll see! Let’s just watch it.”
Lately in interviews, the fear of sharing spoilers is always at the top of actors' minds, and Tudyk agreed how nerve-wracking it could be to be in this position. He joked in the Collider interview, "It’s so tricky now. You never know what you can say and what you can’t say. One slip up and then you find it on your phone, like, ‘What did you say?’ So, I think a lot of actors, we've all gotten muscles around lying.” While we've all been desperate for more Andor news, especially after the teases we got from D23 Expo 2024 back in August, it's probably for the best if Tudyk doesn't get in trouble for revealing major spoilers.
Andor Season 2 has been confirmed to arrive on Disney+ sometime in 2025. The official release date is currently unknown. Alan Tudyk has been confirmed to be coming to Star Wars Celebration in 2025. If the show hasn't debuted by April, then we can probably expect news by then.
