Andor: The Ghorman Massacre could be Dedra's downfall

From what we know about Galactic History, this could royally blow up in her face

One of the biggest upcoming storylines in Andor Season 2 is the Ghorman Massacre. Tony Gilroy has already confirmed it, and we see multiple shots of it in the trailers. In the episode "One Year Later," Director Krennic holds a secret meeting about invading and destroying Ghorman for the Death Star project.

And I think this is going to be the demise of one of the main characters.

Dedra Meero was invited to Krennic's secret meeting along with her boss, Major Partagaz, where she heard the plan to invade Ghorman. She even gave Krennic some advice on how to handle it, based on her own experience from Ferrix going wrong in Season 1.

However, in the second episode, "Sagrona Teema," Dedra flat-out tells Partagaz she does not want the Ghorman job. He doesn't allow her to back down from it, saying they will fake a demotion for her at the I.S.B. so she can take on Ghorman.

Dedra apparently has some sort of bad feeling about Ghorman, something that she wants to stay away from the entire thing. From what we know about the event from other Star Wars media, she is spot on.

The Ghorman Massacre is one of the biggest events in Galactic History and kicks off the slow rolling ball down the hill that will be the beginning of the end for the Empire. The Empire's plan to invade completely backfires as people across the galaxy are angered by the massacre of peaceful protestors. Mon Mothma defects from the Empire because of it, and she officially calls together the Rebel Alliance. While more citizens across the galaxy would join the Rebels after the Death Star blows up Alderaan, the Ghorman Massacre was a major boost for the Rebellion, with people joining their ranks.

If Dedra is directly tied to Ghorman, Krennic could be setting her up to take the fall for him. She might already see that she's a possible scapegoat for the entire thing. It could destroy her career in a single day, losing her everything she worked for. There is also the possibility that she could be killed in the fray, too, which is another way to end her story. Still, the more interesting story is to see her lose horrifically and what she does next.

Ghorman is going to be an interesting story for just about every character in the show. For Dedra, it could be the make-or-break moment for her of the season.
