Ahsoka Season 2 is less than a week away from filming in the UK, and Dave Filoni had a lot to share with fans at today's Ahsoka panel at Star Wars Celebration. While there's a lot to recap, here are the most important things we learned about Season 2.

5 Things we learned from the Ahsoka Season 2 panel at Star Wars Celebration 2025

1. Hayden Christensen will be back as Anakin Skywalker in Season 2

Hayden's return as Ahsoka's Master in Season 2 was confirmed at the panel, and no one seemed happier for him than Rosario Dawson. Christensen couldn't reveal much, but the confirmation shows his role must be substantial. His involvement in Season 1 was kept a secret, but this time, he could play a crucial role in the series.

2. The first look at Rory McCann as Baylan Skoll

Replacing the great Ray Stevenson as the majestic Baylan Skoll was no easy task, but the first look at Rory McCann is impressive. Rory appears to be the spitting image of Baylan when he's dressed for the part. The only thing missing is Stevenson's gray beard.

Rosario praised McCann's fierceness and intensity, and Filoni admitted that finding a replacement for Stevenson was hard. He said, "I had Ray in my head. I was grateful for all the conversations with him about Baylan. So I understood what to do, it just took a while to get there." After discussing things with Ray's family, Filoni decided to recast Baylan with Rory McCann.

3. Admiral Ackbar will face Grand Admiral Thrawn

Dave Filoni usually remains tight-lipped, but he didn't shy away from revealing the upcoming Season 2 showdown between Admiral Ackbar and Grand Admiral Thrawn. Filoni revealed Ackbar and Thrawn will go "head to head" and Ackbar will be back "in a much, much bigger way." This isn't the only Thrawn faceoff Dave Filoni has teased. A few months back, he confirmed a confrontation between General Hera Syndulla and Thrawn in Season 2.

4. Say hello to Loth kittens!

We'll never have enough cute creatures in Star Wars. Loth cats are great, but you're not ready for Loth kittens! Filoni revealed concept art of the baby Loth cats and joked that he needs them to help pay for the show. The tiny, fluffy, wide-eyed fluffballs look perfect, and cat lovers will surely go ham on all Loth kitten merchandise! We can't wait to see these in live-action.

5. The Mortis Gods are back

The Peridea mystery deepens in Season 2 as the Mortis Gods' role in the show comes into focus. They were only teased in Season 1, but this time, these Gods will be the mystery. Filoni refused to reveal anything else, but you might wanna pull out those "Peridea was once Mortis" theories from Season 1.

Last but not least, this wasn't a reveal, but Dave Filoni's emotional tribute to the late Ray Stevenson was extremely moving. Filoni struggled to hold back tears while describing his friend as "the greatest spirit on the show." Rosario Dawson also praised Ray as "a joy to be around." Filoni promised fans that Rory McCann is committed to "not let Ray down and to not let you down."

Ahsoka is streaming on Disney+ and Season 2 begins filming in less than week.
