Filming for Ahsoka might have started sooner than we thought! Eman Esfandi recently celebrated the launch of his new podcast and the "kicking off" of Ahsoka Season 2.

As we reported in December, Ahsoka is set to go into production this April, with filming set to take place entirely in the UK. While Season 1 was shot in California, Ahsoka Season 2 joins other shows, such as The Acolyte and Andor, to film outside the US.

Although Lucasfilm has yet to confirm if filming for Ahsoka has started, Esfandi's Instagram post puts the show on track to begin production in April, suggesting the cast may have started preparing for the upcoming season. Esfandi is set to reprise his role as Ezra Bridger and will be joined by Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Lars Mikkelsen. Hayden Christensen is rumored to return as Anakin Skywalker, after returning as the Chosen One in Episode 5, "Shadow Warrior."

With the Star Wars Celebration in Japan next month, Lucasfilm will likely announce when filming starts during the Ahsoka panel. The panel will more than likely be attended by most, if not all the cast members. For now, plot details remain scarce, but Game of Thrones and Gladiator II actor Rory McCann will replace the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll. Replacing Stevenson, who passed away shortly before the premiere of Ahsoka, was inevitable but not easy. His performance left a strong impression on fans, and Skoll is an intriguing addition to Star Wars.

He will resume his journey on Peridea but won't be alone. His former Padawan, Shin Hati, whom he abandoned, is also stranded there. Joining them is the Master and Padawan duo of Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren. There's a possibility they'll all face off during Season 2, but the question is, who will make it back home, and who will remain stuck on Peridea or lose their life?

Rumors also suggest that Baylan Skoll seeks Abeloth, and she might reside on Peridea. The planet is home to statues of the Mortis Gods, and some theories suggest Peridea was once the planet of Mortis before unknown events turned it into a barren wasteland. Statues of the Mortis Gods were included in Baylan Skoll's last scene in Season 1, which teases a connection between Skoll and his purpose on Peridea.

Apart from the possible live-action debut of Abeloth, Season 2 should hopefully explain more about the new galaxy introduced to Star Wars canon, which opens limitless possibilities for future stories set in new worlds outside of the known Galaxy.
