Before rewatching Star Wars Resistance with my daughter, I decided to rent the DVD Season 1 set from the library. There are many special features for Star Wars fans included in the audio commentary on four episodes of the series.

The commentary is done by voice actors Christopher Sean (Kazuda Xiono), Josh Brener (Neeku Vozo), Myrna Garcia Velasco (Torra Doza), and Scott Lawrence (Jarek Yeager). They did commentary on "The High Tower," "The Platform Classic," "Bibo," and the Season 1 finale, "No Escape: Part 2."

A lot of insight can be gained as you listen to their reactions and what they focused on involving the series. For example, Josh Brener said that he had to record and do several different takes and versions of Neeku's memorable laugh. He didn't know until he saw the show which one had been selected.

All four recalled that even though they recorded for the series, they would not see any animation for the show until months later. It made me appreciate how talented they all are to voice characters they were not necessarily sure how they would be presented on screen.

Other little tidbits of information were very interesting about the actors. Scott Lawrence commented how when he saw the dogfight in the finale, it brought him back to the original film, A New Hope, and the battle of Yavin.

Myrna Garcia Velascowas excited when she found out that Torra Doza had her own Hot Wheels car, purchasin the toy as soon as she could.

Both Velasco and Sean joked about their characters and a possible romance between the two that always seems to be boiling on the surface. They also discussed the process of creating the series, and they were not told as much information at the start. Brener commented that he was not necessarily sure that he was auditioning for Star Wars when he first was called.

My favorite part was listening to how complimentary all four were of not only their fellow voice actors but also the animation department and how beautiful they thought the show's design truly was. They also spoke of how they teared up during the episode, "The Platform Classic" and the story with Yeager and his brother. It shows how every actor who has worked on the franchise has truly taken their craft seriously and been proud to be a part of it.

Any Star Wars fan who purchases the DVD set to listen to these commentaries knows they are an enjoyable treat.
