Tales of the Underworld: Asajj Ventress's shorts opened the door to more spin-offs

Tales of the Underworld's Ventress shorts were not only good, but they opened the possibility for future shows about Count Dooku's former Padawan and her lost love, Quinlan Vos.

Tales of the Underworld did an excellent job of acknowledging Asajj Ventress's past and showed us a clear picture of where she is in her journey.

The show revealed that she returned from the dead thanks to her Nightsister roots. However, she had to sacrifice the love of her life, Quinlan Vos. Vos was shown taking Ventress's body to the Waters of Life on Dathomir. This wasn't the only time Vos played an important role in Ventress's story.

It was revealed that The Path, the underground network most fans probably remember from Obi-Wan Kenobi, was started by Quinlan Vos. The Path is a network that helped take many surviving Jedi and Force-sensitives to safety. During Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Jedi Master discovered Quinlan Vos's involvement with the network, but at the time, it wasn't revealed who founded it.

Tales of the Underworld further cemented Kenobi and Vos's connection by showing that Kenobi accompanied Quinlan to lay Ventress to rest. It opens the door for a series about Quinlan Vos's life after Order 66, which can reveal more about The Path, how Vos established it, and how he coped with losing Ventress.

The Path has been mentioned in Obi-Wan Kenobi, Tales of the Underworld, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Star Wars is setting up a project that delves into The Path in greater detail, and this could be possible if there's a series about Quinlan Vos. But that's not the only possible story that Asajj Ventress's arc on Tales of the Underworld sets up. Ventress has already appeared on The Bad Batch Season 3, where she met Omega and tested her Force abilities. That may have teased Ventress's future as a Jedi Master.

Tales introduced a new young candidate who could be Ventress's Padawan. His name is Lyco Strata, and the show focused on his bond with Ventress, who is protective of him. Strata is a bit naive, but he's capable of fighting and even has a lightsaber. Although Tales shows Ventress and Lyco's journey as the latter tries to find 'The Path,' it ends with his decision to stay with Ventress.

The unlikely duo's journey could be the focal point of another animated series. Although Lyco has been trained in the Force, he's still rough around the edges. Ventress could complete his training, and the two could form a formidable duo. Even though a series about The Path, Quinlan Vos, or Asajj Ventress hasn't been announced yet, Tales of the Underworld laid a good foundation for them.

A Cad Bane show featuring his son Isaac could make a compelling spinoff series. Most of what Tales of the Underworld revealed about Bane's past was previously unknown, so there's a lot of potential for further exploration.

Tales of the Underworld is streaming on Disney+.
