During a Disney sizzle reel showing at the 2017 CinemaCon on Tuesday, footage from Star Wars: The Last Jedi was shown….

The 2017 CinemaCon is currently being held in Las Vegas, Nevada, and during the Disney panel on Tuesday evening, a sizzle reel was shown. In the reel, among other Disney films coming soon, footage of Star Wars: The Last Jedi was shown, featuring Daisy Ridley’s Rey swinging a lightsaber and doing something with the Force.

According to several journalists at the event, Rey is shown not only igniting and swinging Anakin Skywalker’s blue-bladed lightsaber, but she is also is using the Force to move things. JoBlo.com notes on Twitter that the scenes looked like they took place on the island where Luke Skywalker lives in self-imposed exile — Ahch-To.

Jacob Tiranno expounds on the Star Wars: The Last Jedi footage featuring Rey, saying she was moving rocks.

Jim Vejvoda notes that Rey turns to the camera before swinging the lightsaber.

More from Dork Side of the Force

Despite there only being one or two shots from the film, many of the journalists in attendance felt the tone of The Last Jedi would be like Empire Strikes Back, only darker.

If Rey is moving rocks with the Force, and training with Anakin’s blue lightsaber, then the sequel to Star Wars: The Force Awakens may play out much like the sequel to A New Hope Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

With the footage shown at CinemaCon, as well as the description of the footage shown to the Disney shareholders, one can certainly feel the hype for the film starting to build. And, with only a couple of weeks until the 2017 Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida, it appears as if our first look at The Last Jedi will indeed happen there.
