By Elaine Tveit
This summer, a Star Wars-themed fireworks show is coming to Disney World, and will be the most elaborate pyrotechnics display in the park’s history.
Earlier today, the Disney Parks blog announced the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular fireworks show, which will debut at Disney World this summer. It promises to be the most elaborate and spectacular fireworks show in all the park’s history.

Per Disney Parks, “The show will combine fireworks, pyrotechnics, special effects and video projections that will turn the nearby Chinese Theater and other buildings into the twin suns of Tatooine, a field of battle droids, the trench of the Death Star, Starkiller Base and other Star Wars destinations. The show will be punctuated with a tower of fire and spotlight beams, creating massive lightsabers in the sky.”
Another Star Wars attraction coming to Disneyland later this year is the Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away stage show. The show will play out iconic scenes from Star Wars films in front of the Chinese Theaters, and will include appearances by popular saga characters (including newly added Park character, Kylo Ren).
The stage show will commence performances April 4th. On the same day, Captain Phasma will lead a platoon of First Order stormtroopers from Star Wars Launch Bay to the Chinese Theater stage several times a day.
This is just the start of announcements of new Star Wars attractions. This Sunday, during The Wonderful World of Disney special celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Disneyland, Harrison Ford will unveil plans for future Star Wars installments at the Disney Parks. This may include news of a Star Wars Land, which Disney has reported is in the works.
