We are a month and a half away from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hitting theaters worldwide. And now, with the marketing for the film hitting an all-time high, Nissan has released its Rogue One commercial…
A couple of months ago we reported that Lucasfilm had inked five major marketing deals for the publicity push to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. As part of that deal, the Nissan Motor Company has released its Rogue One commercial, for its aptly named vehicle, the Nissan Rogue. Check it out:
"At a remote test facility, the new Nissan Rogue gets battle-tested with the ultimate challenge: a simulated battlefield from ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY. Using the Nissan Rogue’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive and Safety Shield Technologies, our Nissan engineer test driver takes on stormtroopers, TIE fighters, AT-ACTs and anything the galaxy throws the Rogue’s way."
I love that this commercial has all the classic Star Wars elements, on display. With X-Wings in a dogfight with TIE Fighters, explosions from AT-ACT’s and AT-ST’s, the commercial has a genuine theatrical feel to it. Then, of course, there’s K-2SO walking out into the middle of the road, to display the Nissan Rogue’s emergency auto stop feature…this commercial has it all.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will hit theaters on December 15 and 16, and will be the very first standalone Star Wars film. We’ve recently had reports that tickets for the film could go on sale to the general public by November 7, but there has been no official confirmation from Lucasfilm, as of yet.
