We Dissect the Star Wars Rebels Season 3 Mid-Season Trailer
The Star Wars Rebels Season 3 mid-season trailer just dropped and we are here to break down all those important and exciting scenes….
Lucasfilm surprised us all today with the Star Wars Rebels Season 3 mid-season trailer. And, just like last season, the over three-minute video was filled with exciting scenes of our favorite Rebels taking on Grand Admiral Thrawn and the Empire.
Now that you’ve seen it, let’s dissect the Star Wars Rebels Season 3 mid-season trailer, and see if we can find some hidden Star Wars gems amongst all the edge of your seat exciting scenes…and oh yeah, that meeting of Obi-Wan and Maul will definitely make the list.
We start with Ezra hearing and then finding the Obi-Wan Kenobi’s HoloNet warning to all Jedi, after his former friend and padawan, Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader destroyed the Jedi Temple, and Emperor Palpatine enacted Order 66.
Next, we have some excellent shots of the TIE Defender in action as it leaves a Star Destroyer with Grand Admiral Thrawn looking on, and a squadron of them chasing the Ghost.
Here’s a shot that should raise some eyebrows. Grand Admiral Thrawn standing in the middle of two Death Troopers. You may remember the Death Troopers as Director Orson Krennic’s personal elite unit of Imperial soldiers.

We also have Mon Mothma making her Star Wars Rebels debut!
And some great shots of the Rebel Alliance fleet in action, including the Ghost taking its place among the other ships in the fleet.
Thrawn will finally get his hands dirty. Here he is firing his blaster…
And here he is practicing his combat skills against some droids.
Thrawn also appears via HoloNet to the Rebels, and in attendance is General Dodonna!
Sabine takes Ezra and Kanan to visit a group of Mandalorians (probably Clan Wren of House Vizsla) led by her mother.
While there, Sabine decides to show her mother and the rest of the clan that she is in possession of the Darksaber.
And, oh, by the way, Sabine has been training saber work with Kanan.
Sabine seems to be adapting her Mandalorian skills quite nicely with that of the Darksaber. I mean, who needs to Force when you’ve got a laser whip?
Looks like Sabine has added more than one new skill to her bag of tricks. She’s got a shield now!
Sabine, at some point, will use Ezra’s lightsaber to fight.
There are a ton of other great scenes in this Star Wars Rebels Season 3 mid-season trailer, and it’s worth watching several times over to catch them all, but what you came to see was Obi-Wan Kenobi. Here’s old Ben tending a fire on Tatooine.
When suddenly, a wild Maul appears!
And then, the money shot! Obi-Wan, with his saber drawn, prepares for battle against his nemesis, Maul.
The second half of Star Wars Rebels Season 3 looks to be the shows most exciting season yet. With all the pieces of the Rebellion’s puzzle slowly coming together on-screen makes Star Wars Rebels such an important part of Star Wars canon. This show is a must watch for any Star Wars fan!
