I was fortunate to attend the “Heroines of Star Wars” panel at Star Wars Celebration Orlando. While there, I got to see a complete Forces of Destiny short about Rey and BB-8 on Jakku. The animation was beautiful and the story was so much fun. Even more exciting was that Rey was voiced by that character’s original actress, Daisy Ridley. In fact, Lucasfilm brought several of their female Star Wars characters’ original actresses back to provide voices for this series, including Felicity Jones (Jyn Erso) and Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata). I love it when Lucasfilm rounds up the old crew. It just makes the new story feel more genuine.
