Rumor: Darth Vader could appear in Star Wars: Han Solo

A new rumor has surfaced regarding Darth Vader’s possible involvement in the untitled Star Wars: Han Solo film…

When Darth Vader makes an appearance, be it film, comic books, or simply a cosplayer dressed as the Sith Lord, he strikes an impressive mark on all involved. Recently, this 2017 comic run with Marvel Star Wars has seen Darth Vader learn to make his first Sith lightsaber and even challenge the Emperor himself.

And, in 2016, when Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hit theaters, it was Vader who literally stole the show in the final moments of the film, as he rampaged his way down an airlock, using the Force and his lightsaber to kill the Rebel soldiers trapped there with him.

Now, thanks to a report from That Hashtag Show, we’ve learned that Vader could be showing up in the untitled Han Solo Star Wars story, without Spencer Wilding reprising his turn as the imposing Sith from Rogue One.

"A source close to the production has revealed to us that someone—presumably not Wilding, given his pretty definitive statement that he isn’t involved—was on the set of Howard’s Han Solo reshoots in Darth Vader’s armor as recently as two weeks ago."

Look, I’m all for Darth Vader being in every single Star Wars film ever…just because he’s my favorite Star Wars character, but does he really need to be in a Han Solo origin film? And, if so, will this be a much younger version of Darth Vader than we saw in Rogue One?

As rumors go, this one is still on shaky ground, so take it with a mound of salt, but if Darth Vader does show up in Star Wars: Han Solo, expect it to be a moment not soon forgotten. Vader doesn’t do quick, unforgettable cameos, as those poor Rebel soldiers found out in Rogue One.
