Japanese The Last Jedi site shines more light on main characters
New character information has been revealed from an official Japanese Star Wars: The Last Jedi website…
Although we think we know the basic outline and character details for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, thanks to the two trailers that have been released, but an official The Last Jedi Japanese website has added some detail not yet seen that adds, even more, detail to our favorite Star Wars characters.
Star Wars News Net translated the information which includes details on Rey, Luke, Kylo Ren, Maz Kanata, and others. And, while there are many character descriptions, the following are the ones with new or interesting information.
- Rey: Rey, now aware of the awakening power of the Force, travels to the hidden world of Ahch-To. She is looking for Luke Skywalker, who is the last Jedi Master in the Galaxy and the last hope for the Resistance. Rey was hoping to find a legendary hero – she instead found a man who disagrees with her expectations.
This description makes it seem as if Luke Skywalker really doesn’t want to train Rey in the ways of the Force.
- Finn: Finn, a former operative of the First Order, previously dedicated himself to the cause of fighting for the Resistance continues the fight. Now, he’s at a crossroads over his role in the war.
Looks like Finn is going to have to decide whether or not to join the fight or run to the Outer Rim like he wanted to do in The Force Awakens.
- Poe: Now that the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance has escalated into total war, Poe is a shining as a leader of a courageous flying battalion. But while he is brave and a skilled pilot, both the First Order and the Resistance alike are starting to fear his dedication to the war effort.

Is Poe Dammeron slowly becoming like Saw Gerrera from Rogue One? If both the First Order (known for its brutality) and the Resistance are starting to fear his “dedication to the war effort,” then he might be toeing that dangerous line.
- Kylo Ren: Humiliated by his defeat at Rey’s hands, Kylo Ren redoubles his efforts to crush the Resistance. However, although his powers in the Dark Side continue to increase, it is still not enough to impress his shadowy mentor – First Order Supreme Leader Snoke.
It certainly looks like Snoke isn’t happy with Kylo Ren’s progress in the ways of the Dark Side of the Force. Could this lead to his beginning a path to return to the Light?
- Maz Kanata: After Maz lost her castle, she has been forced to take a more active role and take advantage of her ties to the criminal underworld. She will provide crucial assistance to the Resistance in their fight against First Order, making use of every connection she has.
Ah, now we know what Maz Kanata’s role in The Last Jedi will be. Perhaps Maz will be the connection to the mysterious DJ played by Benicio Del Toro?
