Kylo Ren still has all of his limbs after his battle with Rey

Kylo Ren, after his battle with Rey in The Force Awakens, still has all of his limbs after getting owned in lightsaber combat.

Kylo Ren is still in one piece — well mostly — after his embarrassing defeat at the hands of Rey on Starkiller Base in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

With the action sequences during their lightsaber duel coming at us in rapid-fire succession, it was hard to tell whether Kylo Ren still has all of his limbs and what not.

As of now, he still is not following that family tradition of losing numerous digits, with Lucasfilm Story Group guru Pablo Hidalgo shedding light upon on the matter.

Leave it to Pablo Hidalgo to answer questions from Star Wars fans, while doing it in style. So, all of his limbs are, in fact, intact. However, Kylo Ren didn’t walk out of that fight squeaky clean.

We do know that Kylo is sporting a brand-new scar, which makes him even more like his granddad Darth Vader.  Who knows what psychological damage was done to the ego of Kylo Ren, who was already a head case going into the fight.

Also, what happened to the lightsaber of Kylo Ren?

We do not have official confirmation on Kylo’s stylish, vintage saber, but it’s pretty evident if you compare shots from The Force Awakens with images from previews for The Last Jedi , that they are entirely different weapons.

The design of Kylo Ren’s lightsaber from The Force Awakens is slightly different than the appearance that we see in The Last Jedi trailer. In fact, the most recent weapon may have had some inspiration from a former obsession of his.

Most likely, the Sith blade of Vader blew up within Death Star II, but it’s not entirely out of the question that Kylo Ren got his hands on the lightsaber itself. If the Skywalker family weapon could survive the Bespin duel, anything is possible.

Either way, it is, at the very least, inspiration for the aspiring Sith Lord and current Dark Side enforcer.

More from Dork Side of the Force

From what we’ve seen so far from The Last Jedi trailers, Kylo seems to have the motto “let the past die,” which may include slaying another one of his parents.

Now, is he going to hold onto the past of his grandfather, while forgetting everything else, including parting ways with the Knights of Ren?

We will have to wait and see, but we will likely see a motivated and angry Kylo Ren during the events of The Last Jedi.

Who knows how Snoke will react to his failure on Starkiller Base, but Kylo’s reaction to his Master will set the tone for the entire film.
