Star Wars: The Last Jedi battle of the sexes

The Last Jedi will face off with a battle of the sexes between Poe and Admiral Aldo.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi picks up with the Resistance scattered and beat up, so now would not be the time for leadership adjustments. General Organa’s forces are scattered and morale is at an all-time low. People are scared and worried about the outcome of the Galactic war and Leia wants to change who is in charge? What is she thinking?

Amilya Holdo is the newest Admiral in the Resistance military. She enters the scene dressed in nice clothes, stylish colored hair, and a demeanor that some would probably call confrontational.

According to the interview conducted by Entertainment Weekly and their Star Wars lead correspondent Anthony Breznican, Laura Dern, who stars in the classic Sci-Fi film Jurassic Park, Admiral Holdo is here to shake things up, implementing change during a time of crisis.

Isaac: “It’s definitely appropriate that they’ve paired us because a lot of the friction and conflict comes between Poe and that relationship with Admiral Holdo.”

All of this is also occurring right at the time that Poe Dameron is trying to become a leader that people can count on.

Then Admiral Holdo gets placed above Poe and that’s when even more bad things start happening.

Is Holdo a good or bad character, well apparently there will be shades of gray, according to Dern herself.

"You have to sort of figure out whose side you’re on or what your feelings are about her."

We learned that Holdo and Poe have both been cut from the same cloth. That’s right, they both have been under the tutelage of General Organa.

So obviously in this instance, Poe probably feels betrayed and overlooked since Admiral Holdo receives the position and he does not.

So, the conflict there will be, is Holdo someone we can trust to handle the job?

Yes, Leia probably made the call to promote her but this is war, not some fancy high tech simulation.

Lives are at stake here and trust is going to be something that is very important because, without it, the Resistance will surely fall from within.

Lastly, if Admiral Holdo is put in charge, why is Lea not able to assume her leadership duties? Did she, perhaps, suffer injuries at the hands of her son Kylo Ren?
