Dork Side of the Force goes behind the scenes with the launch of Denny’s promotional campaign for Solo: A Star Wars Story!
Solo: A Star Wars Story is approaching at a hypers(pace), with the film’s sponsors kicking things up a notch, as well.
On April 1 (no this is no fools) Dork Side of the Force journeyed to Hollywood California, joining the festivities of Denny’s Solo: A Star Wars Story promotional campaign announcement — which took place at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California on April 2.
Our site Co-Expert Neil had a blast in Hollywood! Follow his adventures on our Instagram page.
When Denny’s reached out to us at Dork Side of the Force with an invite, they had our RSVP at the mention of free pancakes, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg on what Denny’s, Disney, and Lucasfilm had to offer with the upcoming Solo film.

He stated several times that the grade of their food and coffee received a significant makeover the past several months, and we learned firsthand the upgrades in the overall taste and quality of such goodies.
We wined and dined on the El Capitan theatre main stage, with the Co-Reactor Pancake Breakfast — with pop rocks adding a bit of fun to our breakfast eating experience.

Most importantly, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to No Kid Hungry, an organization set on eliminating the need of starving children in America — with 1/6 kids across the country going hungry each day.

In addition to a creative Star Wars menu featuring Han Solo, guests will be able to get their hands on Solo: A Star Wars Story Collector Cups and Topps Trading Card Packs.
My pack includes the mighty Chewbacca and the Q’ira, who evidently has a dark and criminal past.
Denny’s premiered A Solo: A Star Wars Story commercial at the event, one with movie quality footage.
For a second, I thought we were watching actual footage from the upcoming film, but more on that in a later article — where it’s likely this is a recreation of a real scene in Solo, the very moment Han Solo wins the beloved Falcon from Lando in a game of Sabacc. We also learned that Neil Lamont and Neal Scanlan recreated an exact “replica” from Solo in this Denny’s promo, who are known for their efforts in The Force Awakens and Rogue One.
All and all, it was a fantastic trip, and we cannot thank the powers to be at Denny’s for taking care of ALL the arrangements in our travels and stay in sunny Southern California. Thanks to Scott, and all of the powers-to-be at Denny’s for making this trip happen.
Next: Solo wins the Falcon playing Sabacc, but what exactly is it?
Solo: A Star Wars Story premieres May 25, 2018, worldwide.
