Star Wars Battlefront II will finally release a Star Wars: The Clone Wars DLC. Will it redeem EA and provide fans with what they deserve in Star Wars gaming?

The EA Play event in Los Angeles over the weekend has been a surprise, but a welcome one for Star Wars gamers — and not only for those in attendance. Bombshell announcements, including the likes of Star Wars Battlefront II and a new Jedi Purge survival game, have gamers in a frenzy.

Expected to drop this Fall is a new DLC for Star Wars Battlefront II, finally including Star Wars: The Clone Wars era content.

That is not a mistype, folks. We are indeed receiving Star Wars: The Clone Wars content for Star Wars Battlefront II.

You have to give EA and those involved much credit for owning up to their mistakes. Mad props to Dennis Brannvall, the design director for Star Wars Battlefront II, for being the big man and admitting his mistake.

It appears EA is ready to clean up the mess they’ve left and are finally on their way to giving fans what they truly want in a Star Wars gaming experience.

The upcoming Star Wars Battlefront II DLC will include Star Wars: The Clone Wars content, along with the likes of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Count Dooku, and General Grievous.

Wait, there’s more. The map for the world of Geonosis will be the largest that Star Wars Battlefront II has to offer. For those of you who have seen the Geonosis featured episodes in Star Wars: The Clone Wars know that those catacombs run deep!

Also, the “squad and progression systems are being reworked, and a starfighter hero mode is being added.” Now, this is a great start, but hopefully this just the beginning of what is yet to come.

Hopefully, the next Star Wars Battlefront II DLC addition will include Coruscant, Christophsis, Dathomir, Serreno, Mustafar, Utapau; for beginners.

Characters I would like to see included are the likes of:

  • Ahsoka Tano
  • Aayla Secura
  • Assajj Ventress
  • Cad Bane,
  • Mace Windu
  • Ki-Adi Mundi
  • Luminara
  • Plo Koon
  • Savage Oppress
  • Shaak Ti

There can’t be a Star Wars: The Clone Wars era game without Ahsoka and Anakin together — it would feel incomplete. The same rings true for Maul (formerly) Darth and his brother Savage Opress — may he Rest in Peace.

Thank you, EA for making attempts at giving us Star Wars gamers a taste of what we want, However, don’t stop here and continue releasing more Star Wars: The Clone Wars content. Don’t fail us again!
