However, unlike the other three, there is a mystery surrounding Olyphant’s character, as it’s unclear if he will be playing a new original character, or a returning favorite.
There are some mixed feelings within the fan base about the recent character and cast reveals, as some wonder if the Mandalorian should be given a chance to stand on its own feet rather than rely on appearance from fan favorites such as Boba Fett or Ahsoka Tano. However, it’s tough to explore the current Mandalorian culture and survival without addressing prominent Mandalorian characters such as Bo-Katan, Boba Fett, and potentially Sabine Wren.
The acting news is just a portion of the Mandalorian news. Several high-profile directors are slated to handle episodes in the upcoming season, including producer Jon Favreau, Peyton Reed, and Robert Rodriguez.
Timothy Olyphant certainly adds more certain star-power to the cast and he isn’t exactly out of place in a gunslinging space western. His roles on Justified and HBO’s wildly popular western Deadwood would certainly prepare him to go toe-to-toe with any wretched hive of scum and villainy. All we know is the Mandalorian news continues to roll out with no end in sight. Season 2 just can’t get here soon enough.
Season 2 of The Mandalorian is slated for release in October 2020 on Disney+.
