Actress Cailey Fleming has made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as a younger version of the deviant character Sylvie in the most recent episode of the Disney+ series Loki (episode 4 “The Nexus Event”). But did you know she has connections to the Star Wars universe, too?

Fleming is a well-known child actress who, despite only just entering her teens, has already made quite a name for herself.

Her first major role was actually that of the young Rey during a flashback sequence in 2015’s The Force Awakens. She was just 8 years old when the movie was released. We saw Fleming again in The Rise of Skywalker, but it seems to have been reused footage from Episode VII.

Another major role of hers is that of Judith Grimes in AMC’s The Walking Dead. Fleming seems to make a habit of playing the younger version of established characters (as many child actors do), but for Grimes, she is in fact the oldest by far to play the character. Since season 3, the child of Rick Grimes has been played by over a dozen babies and toddlers, but they now seem to have settled on a recurring actress in Fleming.

Star Wars actress makes an appearance in this week’s Loki

For those who are caught up on Loki (spoilers ahead!), Sylvie is a variant version of the trickster god from a timeline that should not exist, at least according to the mysterious Time Keepers. This means that Fleming is also technically playing Loki!

With The Bad Batch continuing to air on Fridays, this means Loki is forced to air earlier in the week on Wednesdays. It seems the roster for Disney+ is so jam-packed that 52 weeks a year simply isn’t enough time to give fresh content a big enough spotlight to shine in for fandoms to go wild with speculation until the next episode. So much content, so little time…

Next. Will Darth Maul be in The Mandalorian?. dark

Loki is currently streaming weekly episodes exclusively on Disney+. And for all things Disney+ and Star Wars, keep up with Dork Side of the Force!
