Sabine Wren was one of the highlights of Rebels. With her creative problem solving and zany artwork, it is hard not to love this Mandalorian warrior. As the Ahsoka show approaches with the promise of a live action version of her character, it is the perfect time to return to some of her best moments in Rebels. Here are the best Sabine-focused episodes to watch before Ahsoka premieres.

The Protector of Concord Dawn (Season 2, Episode 13)

When the Rebels search for a new travel route to avoid the Empire, they come face-to-face with a group of Mandalorian warriors called the Protectors. During their first confrontation, Hera is injured, and Sabine takes it upon herself to seek revenge for their attack. Her family’s past as Death Watch terrorists comes back to haunt her when she takes on the Protectors.  During her journey, she is exposed to the peace-seeking point of view of Kanan and learns how to balance her anger with the cause she values.

The Antilles Extraction (Season 3, Episode 4)

Sabine takes a great risk going undercover as an Imperial cadet. Her mission is to help a group of other cadets to defect from the Empire, just as she did several years before she joined the Rebellion herself. Sabine displays a variety of skills in order to complete her mission, from piloting to subterfuge to hand-to-hand combat. She may have been aligned with the Empire in her past, but she has now found a family with the Rebels.

Trials of the Darksaber Arc (Season 3, Episodes 15-16)

Sabine has always struggled with her past, so when she finds the darksaber, her internal conflict is intensified by the idea of seeing her family again and accepting Mandalorian responsibilities. Wielding the saber could unite the Mandalorians, but she is seen as a traitor by her people and is afraid to be hurt by them again. Reluctantly, she trains to wield the darksaber, and in the process, faces her pain and finds balance within herself.

Heroes of Mandalore Arc (Season 4, Episodes 1-2)

After reuniting with her family, Sabine now has her sights set on freeing her father from the Empire. The journey of this arc includes many exciting moments where we can see Sabine’s improved combat skills and her growing relationship with her fellow Mandalorians. Sabine’s past with the Empire continues to haunt her when she is confronted by the weapon she once designed, now used against her.

Finale Arc (Season 4, Episodes 14-15)

The finale has serious implications for Sabine as well as the other members of the Ghost crew. Sabine is a major part of their final battle against the Empire, but the epilogue of the show reveals an important journey she must undertake, one that will likely be continued during the Ahsoka show. In fact, Sabine reunite with Ahsoka in the final minutes of the show, hinting at a longer partnership that we will eventually see the fruits of.

With Ahsoka premiering on August 23, there are now many reasons to rewatch Rebels. Be sure to check out these episodes and more because Sabine is clearly a fantastic character to follow as we prepare for the new show.
