Hayden Christensen’s return as Anakin Skywalker is one of the biggest highlights of Ahsoka. Part 5 “Shadow Warrior”, is the highest-rated episode of the series on IMDb.com. This episode featured the return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader. Anakin and Ahsoka reunite in the World Between Worlds when Ahsoka is unconscious, and he gives her one final lesson as a Master. By the end of the series, Force ghost Anakin looks on proudly at Ahsoka as she and Sabine find themselves stranded on Peridea. The final shot of the series is Anakin Skywalker which has given many fans hope that this may not be his last appearance as The Chosen One. Will Anakin return in Ahsoka Season 2?

A second season of Ahsoka hasn’t been announced yet by Disney+. It’s a game of numbers at this point, and a second season will likely get the greenlight if the ratings for Season 1 are good enough. However, as the series is setting up Dave Filoni’s Mandoverse movie, it’s probably best if Season 2 is greenlighted and the many questions that remain unanswered from the series are all answered in Season 2. Otherwise, the movie may not be a satisfying culmination of the events of the Mandoverse. It’s unlikely that loose threads from Ahsoka can be tied up in The Mandalorian Season 4 or Skeleton Crew, the latter of which is a brand-new series.

With so many unanswered questions and Ahsoka stranded in another galaxy, a second season seems imperative. Ahsoka will find herself alone, with only the Noti people and Sabine to keep her company. This could be the perfect opportunity for Anakin to return and to talk to Ahsoka whenever she feels uneasy. Ahsoka is sure to face many hardships on Peridea and a quick return to the home galaxy isn’t certain. How long will she and Sabine be stranded there is the question. If it’s a long period of time, she can connect with Force ghost Anakin in the same way Obi-Wan Kenobi connected with Master Qui-Gon Jinn while living a solitary life on Tatooine. Obi-Wan’s only job was to keep an eye on Luke Skywalker. It allowed Qui-Gon to pass on a few more lessons to his Padawan, including how to retain his consciousness after death. Perhaps Anakin will pass on a few lessons to Ahsoka or just offer her some words of motivation as she faces an uncertain future with the knowledge that Thrawn has returned to the galaxy, and her friends are all in danger.

Hayden Christensen’s return has been very well received by fans so bringing him back as Anakin in Season 2 isn’t a bad option. He can also return for more The Clone Wars flashbacks if Ahsoka tells Sabine some stories about her bond with her own master. Ahsoka can use the lessons she learned from Anakin as a  guide for Sabine while completing her training. Moreover, anything is possible on a planet like Peridea and so far we haven’t really found out what dangers lurk on the deserted planet. If it has a strong connection to the Force, or to the Mortis Gods, that means Ahsoka will have to overcome darkness and come face to face with her biggest fears. In those moments of hopelessness, feeling Anakin’s presence may be the kind of reassurance she needs that everything will be okay.

If there’s one thing Season 1 of the show has really gotten right it’s every single appearance by Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker. We hope that a potential Season 2 will give fans a few more memorable moments together between The Chosen One and his Padawan.
