Ewan McGregor was misquoted at Fan Expo Boston, where the actor revealed his wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, would begin filming for Ahsoka season 2 soon. Winstead plays live-action Hera Syndulla, but a source in attendance misheard McGregor and reported that the actor had confirmed he's in Ahsoka season 2.

This was denied by Lucasfilm, but a few days later, McGregor made another comment that caused a stir among fans. A couple of days ago at Fan Expo Canada, the Obi-Wan Kenobi actor revealed that, "I'm going to watch all of Clone Wars. That's my homework."

The Clone Wars are a must-watch for any Star Wars fan, and Ewan McGregor is currently watching the series. Hayden Christensen admitted he watched all 7 seasons of The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels to prepare for his return as Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka. It's tempting to speculate that his co-star could be watching the celebrated animated series as part of his preparation for a return in Clone Wars flashbacks.

Could McGregor be readying for Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2, or is this part of the homework assigned to him by Dave Filoni for his return in flashbacks for Ahsoka Season 2? The actor's involvement in the series has been rumored for a few months, but nothing has been confirmed until now. Interestingly, Lucasfilm quickly clarified any rumors regarding McGregor's involvement in Ahsoka. As all such speculation is harmless, you have to wonder why they felt the need to clear the air. Regarding a potential season 2 of Kenobi, McGregor sounded optimistic, admitting that, “I don’t know their plans right now, I know they’re making ‘Ahsoka’, but I’m sure at some point.”

Regardless, McGregor does seem to be knee deep in Star Wars lore, and we can guarantee he'll have a great time watching the animated version of the beloved Jedi Master. The Clone Wars offers a look into Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker's relationship during the war, and an insight into Kenobi's tragic love story with Mandalore's Duchess Satine Kryze, who was assassinated by Kenobi's arch nemesis, Darth Maul.

Live-action Clone Wars has always been an idea thrown around by fans, and recently, Hayden Christensen also threw his support behind it. Christensen had the opportunity to don Anakin Skywalker's Clone Wars armor for Ahsoka, Episode 5, "Shadow Warrior", and he has expressed how much he'd like to have Ewan McGregor along for any potential Clone Wars scenes. Speaking of Christensen at Fan Expo Canada, McGregor referred to him affectionately as "My brother from another mother."

All seven seasons of The Clone Wars are streaming on Disney+.
