Fans are anxious and ready for more Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano. And rightfully so. Aside from Robert Downey as Iron Man, I'm not sure there's ever been a more accurate casting. Her blend of attitude and stoicism, not to mention her perfect mannerisms and personality, make her the ideal person for the more mature Ahsoka of the show.

Just take a look at the progression from animated to live action.

And while no one can truly match the lightning reflexes and physics-defying flips of the animated Ahsoka, Dawson comes about as close as possible. Fans can't wait to see more of her in Ahsoka season 2.

So, when we learned that filming for season 2 began this last April in the United Kingdom—and that Dawson was already showing off her bruises from the show's many stunts—there was hope that we'd see Ahsoka again sometime this year.

Even better was the confirmation that Anakin will return.

After the success of season 1, there has been no end to the discussion around the show. Actor Ivanna Sakhno—who played Shin Hati in the first season and is slated to return—said to expect season 2 to be "bigger and even more in-depth" than the first one. And, with returning directors who are intimately familiar with both Star Wars and—more importantly—Ahsoka herself, we expect nothing less. Even better: Thrawn and Ezra Bridger will be back in action.

Disney has so far not commented on the show's release date despite the show's anticipation. They did, however, just drop a new promotional teaser for their upcoming 2025 line up... and sadly, there was no Star Wars title to be seen.

There's a lot here to be excited about, with shows like Percy Jackson, Alien Earth, and (the classic) King of the Hill. But the teaser is noticeably silent on Ahsoka. While this doesn't necessarily confirm anything about season 2, it gives us more than a little hint that we won't see it in 2025.

It looks like we've still got some time to wait until we see Rosario Dawson wielding her lightsabers again. While Disney has not confirmed the timing for when season 2 might arrive, we always knew a 2025 release was a long shot, and Ahsoka's absence in the Coming in 2025 highlight reel seems to be our first official confirmation from Disney+ that the season will not be coming until 2026 at the earliest.

At least Ahsoka's not alone. There is an entire slate of exciting Star Wars shows and movies set to come out in 2026, including The Mandalorian and Grogu, Maul: Shadow Lord, and The Ninth Jedi.
