Lucasfilm confirmed that Ahsoka Season 2 is in development back in January when they announced the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, and in a new interview with ComicBook.com, Rosario Dawson shared just how excited she is to come back for another season.

When asked if she had any updates about the show, she said "Nope" but was "hugely" excited to play the character again and reunite with the cast and crew. Going into detail regarding her feelings for the show, Dawson said that she thinks it's a huge deal that there's "new storytelling" with old and established characters and that she's hoping for "new costumes."

"I mean, it's a big deal. It's huge. I love everyone. It's an incredible cast. It's a great group of people and we get more Ahsoka, we get more Sabine. We get more of these characters in a way that – and as much as we've watched all of the previous shows and everything – it's new storytelling, which is just insane to me. So I hope there's new costumes and I want to know what's going on."

Details regarding Season 2 are scarce, and after the passing of actor Ray Stevenson, who portrayed Baylan Skoll in the series, we wonder if it's taking Dave Filoni time to figure out what to do with Baylan's character or to re-cast him if that's the plan.

For now, it doesn't seem like Rosario has read a script for Season 2, which means it's too soon, and Dave Filoni is still working on the story. There's no confirmed timeline for the show's release, and the filming has yet to begin. At present, the only Mandoverse project due to film this year is The Mandalorian & Grogu, which begins filming sometime this June. Later this year the next Mandoverse show, Skeleton Crew, will debut. Unless Ahsoka escapes Peridea or Din and Grogu end up there in the movie, it's unlikely that we'll see Rosario again until Ahsoka Season 2. However, knowing Filoni's love of Ahsoka, it wouldn't be shocking if she showed up in the movie.

ComicBook.com interviewed Dawson while she was recording a Fright Night episode of The Table Read Podcast. Also present was Master Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill.
