Star Wars: Andor Season 2 wrapped filming a few months ago and is rumored to premiere sometime next year. However, this second installment will feel very different than Season 1 for one key reason.

According to ScreenRant, actress Adria Arjona, who plays Bix Caleen in Andor, explained the second season's unique style of storytelling. This next entry will feature a time jump of one year after every three episodes. She said to ScreenRant:

"In between every three episodes, there's a year, and then there's three more episodes, then a year, and then three more. So, you're seeing the evolution of these characters through such a large span of time, and I've never done that."

Not only does the one year between every three episodes help us see the growth of characters like Bix, Cassian, and Brasso, but it will also give us a good overview of how the Rebel Alliance came together with each year, leading up till the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The Battle of Scarif was one of the first open battles between the Rebels and the Empire. It's where we saw a far more united Rebel Alliance than what's seen in Andor when the Rebels were far more scattered and disorganized. The Battle of Scarif was the first major victory for the heroes thanks to Cassian and his team's sacrifices.

While this same progress can be seen in Star Wars Rebels, which runs concurrently with Andor Season 1, it's much more gradual, as Rebels doesn't feature frequent time jumps. Another difference is, although all the characters in Star Wars Rebels are closely connected to the Rebel Alliance, perhaps none were as important to the Rebellion during the Dark Times as Cassian, who came from nothing and quickly rose through the ranks to become a trusted Rebel operative and pilot.

Andor Season 2 will hopefully show us how Cassian became so successful as a spy and assassin that the Alliance High Command entrusted him to lead high intelligence missions. Season 2 of the series will cover approximately five years of the Star Wars timeline leading up to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Meanwhile, Adria Arjona has also promised a fascinating journey for her character, Bix Caleen, in Season 2, and Tony Gilroy says that surprises are in store for the upcoming season.
