In The Bad Batch, Clone Force 99 and former Vice Admiral Rampart have come to a tenuous agreement to work together, but his past makes it very likely that he'll end up betraying them.

Rampart and the Batch teamed up in episode 12, "Juggernaut." In the latest episode, "Into the Breach," Rampart plays an Imperial Officer. While they work together for each other's and their own benefit, there are no guarantees that Rampart will continue complying with orders.

Rampart is used to running the shots, and it shows in episode 13 when he says he misses ordering lower-ranked Imperial Officers around. He still looks down upon those who are ranked lower than him. He snickers when offered an Imperial Officer's uniform as a disguise because Rampart was a Vice Admiral before the Empire betrayed him.

Therefore, Rampart's chances of betraying Clone Force 99 upon arriving at Tantiss are extremely high. The finale is bound to be a chaotic one and has to be if the Batch is to free all the clones, find Omega, and return home without suffering a loss. Had Rampart shown any remorse about working for the Empire, then a redemption arc could've been expected. However, for now, he seems to despise the company of clones and misses the perks of being a Vice Admiral for the Empire.

With the stakes already so high, a betrayal from Rampart will complicate things further for the Batch and Omega. We can hope that he'll continue to reluctantly assist them in their mission to rescue Omega and save their brothers, but that seems like a tall order for a guy like Rampart.

With so many questions heading into the finale, that's an awful lot of threads hanging loose for the writers to tie up, and we wonder if the show will reach a satisfying conclusion with so much on the writers' plate.
