This Week in Star Wars Comics: September goes out quietly
September 2024 was a weird month for Star Wars comics. It was quite the transitional time where the two big mainline series came to an end to kick off the comic event in October. This event will set up 2025's storytelling. Along with a few of the ongoing comics just doing their thing and all the major announcements being saved for New York Comic Con in October, it was sort of a quiet month overall.
Still, there is a new comic to talk about This Week in Star Wars Comics, so let's get into it.
Star Wars: Ahsoka #3
It's the continuation of Ahsoka adaptation with issue #3 covering the events of episode 3 of the show. Just like I say every time with these adaptations, these are neat if you want to see your favorite episodes or characters in a new art style. I think gone are the days when these adaptations added new context to these stories. It's not the Rogue One comic or Star Wars Visions manga. It's just Ahsoka in comic form. If that's your jam, this one is for you. Star Wars: Ahsoka #3 is written by Rodney Barnes, the illustrator is Steven Cummings, and the cover artist is Phil Noto.
And that's it for September. I'm looking forward to October, which is the start of an exciting time for Star Wars comics. The comic event Insurgency Rising will kick off the Battle of Jakku. This will, in turn, set up the post-Return of the Jedi time period for Star Wars comics next year. It'll be great to see how this will lay the groundwork for projects like The Mandalorian, Star Wars Resistance, and the sequel trilogy time period. It'll be a good time for comic book fans.
And you know we'll cover it each week here on This Week in Star Wars Comics. See you in the splash pages!
