This recap contains full spoilers for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Season 1 finale.

The finale of Skeleton Crew is here! After the massive cliffhanger of Jod Na Nawood igniting his lightsaber just as the kids are reunited with their parents, we'll have to see how Wim, KB, Neel, and Fern get out of this one.

Let's recap Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Season 1, episode 8, "The Real Good Guys."

We open exactly where we left off in episode 7, "We're Gonna Be In So Much Trouble." However, Fern's mother, Fara, thanks him, thinking he's a Republic Emissary who has brought their children back. Jod introduces himself, puts the saber away, and begins to spin a story about how much trouble the kids are in for "stealing a ship" and putting "At Attin at risk of being discovered."

Jod commands the Security Droids to confine the children to their homes and watch them while Old Republic credits are being loaded up onto the Onxy Cinder. Wendle, Wim's father, doesn't think that's really necessary. Fern begins to talk back, but Jod offers to take her and her mom to meet the mysterious Supervisor. The droids take the rest of the kids and their parents away.

Wim and Wendle are in their home as a Security Droid watches them eat their dinner. When Wim says he doesn't want to take Assessment and join the Great Work, it starts an argument. Wim almost reveals that Jod isn't a Jedi but stops just short and apologizes. He tries to warn his dad that more people are out there (like the pirate ship waiting just outside the Barrier) who want to ruin At Attin. Wendle says that's why the Supervisor protects them all and returns to eating.

Up in his room, Wim calls Neel on his walkie-talkie to try to get help to save Fern. But he's found by the Security Droid.

As for Fern, it's a tense ride to the top of the Supervisor tower with her, Jod, Fara, and the Security Droids. The door opens, and it's an empty computer room with no one there. There are layers of dust on everything, clearly abandoned for a very long time.

A gigantic cylinder device turns, and it's revealed that the Supervisor is a massive droid that leads the people and controls everything, as the Great Work decreed. Jod introduces himself. As he weaves the same story for the Supervisor, Fern whispers to her mom this is all a trick. Jod requests his other ship be allowed to pass, making Fara question him as that's not protocol. Jod threatens her, telling her to obey, something the Supervisor agrees with.

Only, there is a problem. The last message from the Republic stated that all Jedi were traitors. You know, the whole Order 66 thing from the prequel trilogy. The Supervisor asks if he's lying about being an Emissary or a Jedi.

Fern screams that Jod is a pirate! The Security Droids spring into action, firing stun bolts at him! Deflecting a few, Jod whips around and stabs the Supervisor in its eye. It shuts down the entire program. All power goes out across the city. One by one, the Security Droids collapse as Jod reveals his true colors to Fara.

He looks for the Barrier override, finding a big handle that will destroy the Barrier. Fara negotiates that she can give his ship access to pass through as long as he takes his credits and go. After threatening Fern at lightsaber point, Fara agrees to help him.

He sends a message to Gunter, who is currently in control of the massive pirate vessel to begin their invasion. Like that, the pirate ship descends towards At Attin with no trouble.

Realizing the droids are down, Wim races to his father to tell the truth about Jod! They run outside to see the pirate ship landing. The ship fires on the people of At Attin, starting their invasion.

Neel and KB arrive on their hoverbikes to pick up Wim! They have a plan to get back to the Onxy Cinder, fly out past the Barrier, call Kh'ymm from episode 3, and hope that X-wings will come save them all in time. Wim grabs his bike, and the kids speed away!

Wendle "borrows" a hoverbike of his own to follow just as the pirates land in smaller vessels to cause mayhem and terror, including taking KB's moms into custody.

The kids race on their hoverbikes-- PEW PEW! And the pirates are hot on their trail. They weave off the road and into the woods where they originally found the Onyx Cinder. Leaping the chasm, Wendle WHOOPS and CHEERS having the best time!

The victory doesn't last long as the pirates are right on their tale again! They zoom into their school building, driving through the hallways to try and lose the pirates. Neel gets thrown from his bike, but he tells them to keep going. He has a plan! Remember in episode 4 when the kids went to a war-torn planet? He befriended a girl named Hayna, who revealed their school has a giant cannon built into it?

Neel is going for the big gun!

Wim, KB, and Wendle get to the ship, the dad is incredibly impressed with their vessel. However, when they try to take off, the ship still has docking clamps on it so it can't move. To undo the clamps, they need power, and all the power is rerouted in the Supervisor's tower. Wendle looks at Wim and says:

"Son, you are talking to a level seven Systems Coordinator. Get the bike."

And they race off towards the tower.

Inside, Fara is mourning everything that is happening. Fern is about done with her mom's sadness, encouraging her to act. There are good people, even in the worst places, that will help. Fern tells Fara to trust her. If her mom can create a distraction, Fern will get a droid rifle and stun Jod.

Jod shoots towards them, breaking up their scheming. He puts a call over the PA, telling the citizens of At Attin they all work for him.

After a quick run from the pirates again with Vane warning Jod, Wim arrives in the elevator tube all by himself. He says he's called X-wings, and it's over. Jod doesn't believe him because the Barrier jams all communication. Wim makes up a lie that if someone has the "Crystal of the Founders," spinning a story for Jod. The only issue is that Wim says the whole Jedi army will save them, and Jod counters there are no more Jedi. The kid needs to work on his stories. During this, Wendle sneaks off the elevator, creeping past the pirate. Fern joins the tale to keep Jod's focus on them.

Wendle gets the power on, and everyone springs into action! Wim calls KB! Fern goes for the stun rifle! Parents scatter as Jod shoots toward Wendle! Jod fires at the droid Fern is trying to steal from, pulling everyone back into the center of the room.

KB takes off in the Onyx Cinder, quickly getting the attention of the pirates on the ground. And she's not alone! While she was waiting, KB fixed SM-33 after Jod disabled him last episode! Well, sort of fixed. She has to hold his head up while the rest of the cords are attached to his body, but it's working out. Just as the pirates target her ship...

Neel hits them with the big cannon on top of the school! It doesn't last too long with him only getting a few shots off. Neel scrambles out of the cannon to safety before the pirates blow it up!

KB makes it out past the Barrier, immediately calling Kh'ymm! The owl lady gets her coordinates, saying the X-Wings are on the way!

But Gunter didn't leave the space unattended. Two small pirate ships fire upon it, striking the Onyx Cinder! The vessel falls through the atmosphere with SM-33 fighting to keep it steady as it careens out of control. KB's moms, Wim, Fern, and their parents watch in horror as the ship tumbles out of the Barrier.

KB's moms tell her she can fix anything. Fern watches as the ship topples, topples, topples...

And then hits the grounds in the school, smoke rising from it. Fern screams for her best friend. Jod blames KB's supposed demise on the kids, saying if they just listened to him, she would be okay. No help they call will get through the Barrier anyway.

Fern, taking a page from Wim in episode one, turns to the big lever that would destroy the Barrier for good and makes a run for it. Fara tries to stop her, pulling Jod's attention to them. He fires at Fern with Fara narrowly tackling her daughter to the ground from being hit! The pirate throws Wendle to the ground with the Force! Wim races to the handle--

And Jod is holding his father at lightsaber point, threatening to kill him if Wim pulls it. Wim says the real good guys will come to save him. Jod yells at him to grow up.

Jod then shares that when he was young and living a poverty, a Jedi woman found him. He wasn't with her long before Order 66 hunted her down. The Empire made him watch while she was killed. "That's the galaxy," he says. "It's dark, with a few pinpricks of light. I'll kill who I need to kill."

Wim relents, letting go of the handle. Jod sheaths his lightsaber, and Wim runs to hug his dad. Jod then makes the biggest villain mistake. He begins to monologue about how he doesn't want to hurt people, and they can still live their lives as slaves to him!

Wendle gets up and punches him mid-monologue. The men fight for the handle while Wim races for the lightsaber! Jod pulls at the weapon with the Force as Wim and Fern fight to hold onto it. Fern begs her mom for help!

Fara takes a leap of faith in her daughter, pulling the handle down!

Lights flare outside as the Barrier falls, beacon by beacon, revealing the stars and the planet of At Attin to the rest of the galaxy. Wooshing is heard in the distance...

And an entire fleet of New Republic squadrons SWOOP in! The pirates flee towards their ship, but the New Republic is making quick work of it! As the pirate vessel falls from the sky, Jod watches as Wim, Fern, and their parents run out of the Supervisor's tower. He's lost, and he watches it all burn up in the sky and crumble to the ground.

Fern and Wim race to where the Onyx Cinder crashed into the school, and Neel meets them. The hatch opens, and KB rolls out of the ship. She's okay, and so is SM-33 and Snowball the rat!

Skeleton Crew ends with the New Republic arriving on At Attin. Wim watches them with a massive smile on his face.
