Sam Witwer is a beloved actor in the Star Wars franchise. He's voiced characters in multiple television series and films as well as video games and audiobooks. Known best for the role of Darth Maul and Galen Marek, AKA Starkiller, he definitely has a penchant for voicing darker roles. There's a reason he's the voice of the Dark Side in the children's game show Jedi Temple Challenge. This is why this latest cameo in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is quite humorous.
Sam Witwer supposedly voices the Teek in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew
In the new series, the child protagonists Wim, Fern, Neel, and KB arrive in Port Borgo in episode 2, "Way, Way Out Past The Barrier." They must take a ferry from their ship to the port to get to the pirate-infested area. The ferryman is a particular species called the Teek, a little critter that first made their appearance in the made-for-TV movie Ewoks: The Battle For Endor.
And the scraggily little Teek is supposedly voiced by none other than Sam Witwer.
Now, take this with a bit of a grain of salt. The source that Star Wars Holocron is referencing is themself, and even then, it's not clear where they got this information from. On IMDb, Sam Witwer is only listed as doing Additional Voices, and it's not even for the episode that Star Wars Holocron is claiming. Witwer voiced for "Very Interesting, As An Astrogation Problem." Like everything on the internet, a little bit of digging is always necessary. When actually going to their source, there is no mention of Witwer at all.
This is a fun detail as it comes in the same year as a big anniversary. Ewoks: The Battle of Endor's prequel film, Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure, turned 40 years old in November. While Teek would make his appearance in the sequel movie as the friend of Noa Briqualon, played by Wilford Brimley, these movies have been celebrated all year. This includes a new Ewoks comic book miniseries which dives back into the the post-Return of the Jedi lives of these fuzzy heroes.
While we might think of someone like Dee Bradley Baker to voice creatures, as he is a renowned creature voice actor, it's fun to see Sam Witwer take this role. If this is true, which again might not be, I'm sure he had a blast bringing this fuzzy little guy to live in Skeleton Crew.
