According to a source named Puck News, The Mandalorian and Grogu have completed filming. Via Collider, this exciting news appears to be confirmed!
According to Collider, The Mandalorian and Grogu, Star Wars' first theatrical release since The Rise of Skywalker (2019) is on track for a May 2026 release. This is the kind of news fans have been waiting for, and it's highly probable that Lucasfilm will confirm it at D23 next month, which takes place in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The Mandalorian and Grogu is reportedly The Mandalorian's fourth season reworked into a movie; however, Lucasfilm hasn't officially confirmed this. Don't bet on them doing that anytime soon, as Dave Filoni hesitated to answer any questions about what the movie means for the show's future earlier in the year. This has left many fans hoping that the show will return with another season at some point, and Lucasfilm is hesitant to close the door entirely on their first live-action series.
The Mandalorian and Grogu will mark the return of the titular Mandalorian and his tiny green son as Din Djarin returns to his bounty-hunting roots and works as an independent contractor to catch Imperial remnants for the New Republic. We'll most likely see the duo's life on Nevarro and how they get pulled back into the action after chilling in their new home.
Much of the cast remains a mystery, but apart from Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver is confirmed for a role in Djarin and Grogu's new adventures. Din's close friends, such as Peli Motto (Amy Sedaris), Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison), Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen), and Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant), could probably show up at some point. Star Wars Rebels Zeb Orrellios was shown in a teaser from the movie at D23 in August, so there's a good chance Zeb's friends, Hera Syndulla, Jacen Syndulla, and Ezra Bridger, could also be involved.
The Mandalorian and Grogu premieres in theaters on May 22, 2026.
