When Does Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Come Out?

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be the very first Star Wars standalone film in the history of Lucasfilm and this week, the one question on many fans’ minds is: When does Rogue One come out?

We are four short days away from the worldwide premiere of the very first Star Wars standalone film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and if you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, then you might have to wait until the weekend to see it, depending on where you live.

Tickets for Rogue One went on sale on Monday, November 28, and the film quickly became the highest ticket pre-sale movie of 2016. As the very first standalone Star Wars film in the history of the Star Wars cinematic universe, Rogue One has a lot of pressure riding its shoulders, and Lucasfilm will use the movie as a template for the rest of the standalone films they plan on releasing in the next five years.

With all the buildup and excitement surrounding Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the film’s Hollywood Red Carpet Premiere was held on Saturday, and the critics, stars, and fans all loved it. Every journalist that has seen the film seems to have nothing but favorable things to say about Rogue One.

So when, exactly, does Rogue One come out in theaters? Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will hit theaters worldwide on Friday, December 16. There will be early screenings held all over, but if you don’t have an invitation or a special ticket, then December 16 is the first day you will be able to see the film in the US. Of course, folks in the UK will be seeing Rogue One on December 15.
