The Maker of Star Wars, George Lucas, was spotted near the rumored filming location of the Obi-Wan Kenobi film, what’s believed to be the next Star Wars spinoff film.

With Star Wars: The Last Jedi causing a great disturbance in the Force, we need our “chosen one” to bring order and balance to the fandom. No, we’re not talking about Anakin Skywalker, but his Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Star Wars rumors have been buzzing for a while now that the next standalone film will feature the high ground Master himself.

Even with the debated prequels, the fandom views Ewan McGregor’s portrayal of Obi-Wan very highly — finally some common ground among the community. Even though we are still awaiting official confirmation on an Obi-Wan film, director Stephen Daldry (The Hours, The Crown) is attached to the unconfirmed project as writer and director.

A general working title is the “Joshua Tree” is attached, and according to Omega Underground, the filming begins this year and may already be upon us. Leave it to George Lucas to stir up controversy, whose recent appearance in Belfast, Northern Ireland has stirred up more excitement for an Obi-Wan movie. Ewan McGreggor is even sporting a very Obi-Wan-like beard in his most recent public appearances.

Belfast is where a substantial portion of the Obi-Wan movie is believed to be filmed, starting in 2019. According to reports by the Belfast Telegraph:

"Lucas was pictured eating out in swanky Holywood restaurant Noble during his short Belfast visit. The snap led to frenzied speculation as to why he was visiting the city."

Isn’t George Lucas supposed to be retired? He also visited the set of Solo: A Star Wars Story, even directing a scene with his long-time friend Ron Howard. Maybe, George Lucas has more involvement with the Star Wars franchise than we initially believed?

These reports also suggest that Lucas’ visit to Belfast was for the sole purpose of scouting out filming spots for Obi-Wan. Even though these may be just wild rumors, an anonymous insider told the Belfast Telegraph:

"“We’ve been told there will be work throughout 2019 because Star Wars is coming to Belfast.”"

Where there’s smoke, there is fire, and there are enough clues to provide evidence that an Obi-Wan movie is coming, folks. What are you waiting for Lucasfilm/Disney? Just announce it already.
