Celebrating Star Wars Day/May the Fourth be with You:

And lastly, we get more Star Wars everywhere.

The amount of content coming in the next couple of year should produce nothing but excitement. Not only is it content we can watch, but also read, listen to and participate in. Let’s begin with Solo: A Star Wars Story, due out on May 25.

More from Dork Side of the Force

We’re finally getting a Han Solo origin story on the big screen. Some of you will say that we didn’t need it and that’s no one except Harrison Ford should play the titular character, but getting two movies in a six month period is pretty awesome.

Considering Rob Howard came on to direct the film, and the cast assembled you have to hope the movie is going to be good.

We’re getting a live-action Star Wars series from Jon Favreau sometime in the future. We’re also getting a series of Star Wars films from Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

Love it or hate we’ll be getting a new Star Wars trilogy written and directed by Rian Johnson. The new animated series Star Wars: Resistance will presumably detail how the resistances formed and continued before and during the latest Saga movies.

Let’s not forget that J.J. Abrams is writing and directing Episode IX, which is set for release in 2019.

If watching Star Wars isn’t enough to satiate your appetite for a galaxy far, far away, Galaxy’s Edge is set to open in both Disney World and Disneyland in 2019.

Today, on Star Wars Day, we get to celebrate the vast universe of escapism that George Lucas created, and we should be eternally grateful to the Maker.

May the Fourth be with you. Always.
