EA Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order footage surfaces providing Jedi purge clues (Video)
EA Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order motion capture video shows a heated lightsaber exchange–and fuels speculation about the sabers’ owners.
When Respawn’s EA Star Wars new Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order video game was announced during Electronic Art’s E3 conference last week, many fans were disappointed that we weren’t given a gameplay trailer.
The game’s plot centers around an unnamed Jedi protagonist as he or she tries to escape the wrath of the Empire during the Jedi “purge”, and some were hoping to get an early taste of that action.
Well, fans can catch a glimpse of what the game will look like thanks to an EA Behind the Scenes video released last year:

Though the footage is not new, we had no idea what the context of the motion capture was until now. The video clearly shows a skirmish between a Jedi (presumably the game’s protagonist) and some variety of dark side user.
John Willams’ famous “Duel of the Fates” soundtrack sets the mood for the clip, perhaps in an attempt to remind fans of the prequel era in which the Jedi fell from prominence.
The game’s director, Stig Asmussen, promises that Respawn will “deliver that Star Wars awe like fans have never seen before”.
So who is the character wielding the red lightsaber? Could it be an imperial inquisitor as seen in the popular Star Wars Rebels animated show? Or could it be one of the dark lords of the Sith?
Virtual fights with Darth Vader are nothing new for Star Wars games. The Force Unleashed series pitted its protagonist, Vader’s secret apprentice Starkiller, against his master on multiple occasions.

With that plot perhaps having been played out, it would be fun to see more stories featuring the Inquisitors, though I doubt many fans are tired of seeing Vader appear in Star Wars games. Based on this footage, whatever Respawn/EA has planned will be action-packed with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
